I have their number I think. I also haven't called for a long time. They didn't seem to know their own product...at all...when I did call. A couple years ago is when I wrote my editor for the K-5. Mine has real time data entry, along with those cryptic rates, etc. It has some harmonic editing utilities, but I'm still waiting for sufficient interest to put a sample conversion routine in it. The main feature- you can save, name, and easily recall "macros" (data setups for any of the pages of data), allowing rapid setup of a patch. It was a bear to write, and I lost money to boot. I did get some cool sounds out of it though. Anyway, I'd have written a conversion routine, but I haven't been able to prioritize getting a sampler yet.....Kalix was going to supply that, but they went belly up, so I'm back to waiting for a good sound card within my budget again. -Bob _______________________________________________________________________________ Xref: unihil rec.music.makers.synth:10734 Path: unihil!newsserver.rrzn.uni-hannover.de!news.rwth-aachen.de!uni-paderborn.de!golden-gate.owl.de!fu-berlin.de!zrz.TU-Berlin.DE!netmbx.de!Germany.EU.net!EU.net!howland.reston.ans.net!cs.utexas.edu!uunet!in1.uu.net!ankh.iia.org!haven.ios.com!banded9 From: banded9@haven.ios.com (Robert Hill) Newsgroups: rec.music.makers.synth Subject: Re: Need K5 Sample converter program Date: Wed Apr 26 01:20:33 MET DST 1995 Organization: Internet Online Services Lines: 33 Message-ID: <3nk041$b18@ankh.iia.org> References: <3nji3f$a9n@newsbf02.news.aol.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: haven.ios.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Acidfolk (acidfolk@aol.com) wrote: : I have been hearing about this program for years and haven't found it...if : you have it or access to it please let me know.--Acidfolk Assuming you're referring to the Kawai K5 additive digital synth .... I have one. I love it. I use an ed/lib that has the sample conversion feature built in. It is called Overtone by Syntonyx. My version is for the PC; I don't know about other platforms. They may be contacted at: Syntonyx Michael Rohrer 7 Loudon Street, SE Leesburg, VA 22075 (703) 777-1933 Again, I love it. Your mileage may vary. Robert T.
