Hi, here are the data card sound banks found on several other servers plus a card that came free with my own K5m, all converted to different formats. The numbering is different from the GLIB set, sorry. sounds-midi.zip =============== contains 10 MIDI files (SMF) with Single/Multi sysex. If in doubt use this version, since it already includes the necessary delays to fool the K5 handshaking. If you get errors during transmission, reduce the sequencer clock speed. sounds-sysex.zip ================ This is the same in plain MIDI sysex, you will probably need some delay between subsequent transmissions if you want to send the patches without problems. sounds-glib.zip =============== The original GLIB format patches. ciao Herbert P.S. Below is the original README that I found on wozzeck.tfo.arizona.edu. __________________________________________________________________________ Contained in this set of archives is Kawai's collection of free patches for the K5. Included are cards 1 through 8 and 10 (card 9 doesn't seem to exist). The internal and external patches that came with the K5 are not included here. The files are in GLIB format, which means they are readable by the public domain GLIB patch librarian. The single and multi patches are stored in separate files (e.g. card1.k5s contains the single patches and card1.k5m contains the multi patches for Card number 1). If you care to know the format of the data contained in the files, each file begins with a hex DD, followed by the raw patch data for the 48 single (or 48 multi) patches. Each single patch is 984 bytes, and each multi patch is 352 bytes. Sysex header and trailer bytes are not included in the file. The K5 does not support a true bulk dump capability, so your patch librarian software must transmit each patch separately, with the appropriate handshaking messages. __________________________________________________________________________ Path: ucsd!ucbvax!tut.cis.ohio-state.edu!rutgers!att!mtuxo!mtgzz!drutx!druwy!mab From: mab@druwy.ATT.COM (Alan Bland) Newsgroups: rec.music.synth Subject: K5 Patch Files (part 1 of 5) Keywords: K5 glib Message-ID: <3976@druwy.ATT.COM> Date: 14 Apr 89 01:45:10 GMT Distribution: rec Organization: AT&T, Denver, CO Lines: 407 This is the first of five files that contain Kawai's free patches for the K5, in GLIB format.
